I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—sunset in Fairmont hits different. Add in a sweet little family, a glowing mama-to-be, and a 2-year-old on a flower hunt, and you’ve got the recipe for some seriously heart-melting maternity photos. Vanessa and Braden met me for an evening session surrounded by mountain views in Fairmont Hot Springs. I’ve photographed them a few times now, and watching their family grow has been one of the biggest joys of my job. Their little girl was full of energy (as toddlers tend to be), so we leaned into that—searching for wildflowers, having a little dance party, and doing the classic “1-2-3 swing!” move that never gets old. Vanessa started the shoot in a taupe-rose dress that matched their daughter perfectly. It was soft, elegant, and glowy—kind of like Vanessa herself. Then for the grand finale, she changed into my favorite dress from my Client Closet (that you can access for FREE if you schedule a session with me!): a rich burgundy gown with a long, flowy train. I always tell clients this dress photographs like magic—and it didn’t disappoint!
We tossed the fabric in the air, let it catch the light, and created some of my favorite shots of the evening.
Vanessa: Denise, we are so grateful and thankful for these precious memories you captured of our family before the arrival of our second daughter!! The vision you had for a maternity photoshoot in the red dress is truly beautiful and beyond words for me! You are so talented in what you do and make.
If you’re expecting and want to capture this season in a way that feels relaxed and true to you, I’d love to help! Whether you're in Fairmont Hot Springs or nearby Invermere, I’ll help guide you through the session so you feel comfortable and connected every step of the way.
And yes—maternity photos can feel beautiful and fun ;)
