A Maternity Session to Remember

Updated: Apr 9

When Laura reached out to me about her maternity photoshoot, she expressed a desire to have it sooner rather than later, considering she was already 35 weeks pregnant. We quickly checked the weather forecast and saw a promising outlook for the next day. Without hesitation we locked the date in, hoping for a stunning sunset and an early taste of spring!

I always try to accommodate last minute inquiries if possible, so feel free to reach out to me if you need a session at short notice

The photoshoot was scheduled one hour before sunset to capture the magical golden hour light on this very first day of spring here in the Columbia Valley, BC. A total of three different locations in Fairmont Hot Springs were visited during the photoshoot and we got so lucky that none of them was muddy (pheeeew).

We started out at a dreamy meadow area, where the sunlight filtered through the trees beautifully. Some introductory poses at the beginning helped to everyone to relax and getting comfortable...from there on my clients were just flowing through our session!

Fun Fact: Laura revealed, that the dress she selected was actually a bridesmaid dress that she worn previously for photos but didn't feel flattered in. Talk about pressure!

At the next location we enjoyed stunning reflections by the river, thanks to the calm weather, and Laura posed gracefully in her flattering dress!

Choosing a local photographer has its perks, especially when it comes to knowing the best spots for photoshoots in specific weather conditions.

Mountain Views

During our phone consultation, Laura had mentioned, that she would love to have prominent mountains in her maternity photos, so our last spot fulfilled her wish perfectly! We watched the sunset against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, capturing stunning silhouette shots as the sun dipped behind the Purcells. It was a truly magical moment as the couple, soon-to-be parents, enjoyed the sunset together...

"Days like this remind me, why I love my job so much, and I am thankful for every opportunity to capture special moments for my clients!"
