Ohhh this session just felt like summer in the best kind of way.

Claire reached out to book her grad photos, and when she showed up in that stunning sapphire blue dress, I knew we were in for something special. It shimmered in the sunlight and flowed with every step—honestly, it was made for golden hour.

She brought her boyfriend Fin along, and I’m so glad she did. The two of them were the sweetest. I always find it helps to have someone around who makes you feel like yourself, especially when you’re stepping in front of the camera.

We started the session with a few fun, lighthearted poses just to shake off the weirdness of "okay, what do I do with my hands?!" It didn’t take long at all before they were laughing and totally relaxed. That’s when the magic happens—when you stop thinking about the photos and just enjoy being in the moment.

We moved through a couple of different spots. One of my favourites was a cozy little nook under an old tree. The light bounced just right off the branches, casting the softest glow and creating this dreamy bokeh that made everything feel a little more magical. We took our time, capturing the details of Claire’s dress and letting the light do its thing.

As the sun dipped lower, we wandered out to a more open spot with the mountains in the distance. And wow, that view. The warm glow of the sun, a little cloud cover for contrast, and two people just being themselves—it was the kind of evening that reminds me why I love doing this.

Claire and Fin were just so easy to photograph. Nothing felt forced. It was just good people, good light, and a whole lot of joy.
