There’s something truly meaningful about documenting the first wedding of the season—especially when it involves familiar faces. I had the privilege of photographing Amber and Steve when they welcomed their baby girl, and being invited to capture this next chapter in their story felt incredibly special. There's a quiet joy in witnessing love evolve across life’s milestones, and this day was no exception.🤍
Set high above the Columbia Valley on a cliffside pavilion at Eagle Ranch Resort in Invermere, BC, this small and intimate elopement was nothing short of magical.

Eagle Ranch Resort: wedding venue with a view
Tucked into the cliffs above Invermere, Eagle Ranch Resort offers a ceremony backdrop that is hard to match and makes it one of Invermere's most scenic wedding venues. The pavilion overlooks expansive wetlands and distant peaks, creating a sense of stillness and grandeur all at once. On this late April afternoon, the weather surprised us in the best way—unseasonably warm, with a soft breeze, vivid blue skies, and just the right amount of clouds to soften the light. It was the kind of day that makes you pause and take it all in.
What makes this location even more meaningful for Amber and Steven is its personal connection: from their home, they can see the pavilion. And now, every time they look toward that view, it will be tied to this moment in their lives—an enduring reminder of their commitment and the quiet beauty of the day they said “I do.”

Why Couples Choose Eagle Ranch for Their Elopement
As an Invermere wedding photographer, I often hear couples express a desire for a venue that combines elegance with a deep connection to nature. Eagle Ranch Resort embodies this balance beautifully. Perched atop ancient bluffs overlooking the Columbia River Valley, the resort offers panoramic views of the wetlands, Lake Windermere, and the surrounding Purcell and Rocky Mountains—a setting that feels both grand and intimate.
Beyond its breathtaking vistas, Eagle Ranch is a full-service destination. The resort boasts an award-winning 18-hole championship golf course, recognized among Canada's Top 100 Golf Courses. For dining, guests can indulge in locally inspired cuisine at Rustica Steakhouse or enjoy a more casual atmosphere at Traders Lounge, both offering menus that highlight regional flavors and ingredients .

Framed by Nature
During our portrait session, we followed the cliffside trails and framed shots with the Columbia Valley wetlands below—one of the largest intact wetland ecosystems in British Columbia. Their stillness created a calm, almost reflective atmosphere, while the snow-covered peak of Mount Nelson and the rugged Purcell Mountains added a dramatic sense of place.
We moved between wide landscape shots and intimate close-ups, letting the surroundings guide the story. And just as Amber and Steven paused for a quiet moment together, an eagle soared overhead—unplanned, silent, and unforgettable.

If you're currently planning your own wedding in the Columbia Valley and searching for Invermere wedding venues with breathtaking views, or you’re looking for an Invermere photographer who understands how to balance natural beauty with emotional storytelling, I’d love to chat.
