Hey, Invermere! Can you feel that crispness in the air? While the leaves haven't started their colorful transformation just yet, those cooler nights and fewer mosquitoes are definite signs that autumn is on the horizon. And you know what that means—it's prime time for fall photoshoots! Whether you're planning a family session or celebrating an engagement, fall offers a stunning backdrop that just can't be beat. But to really make your photos pop, it's important to think about what you’re wearing. So, let's dive into some fun and fab wardrobe tips to make your fall photoshoot a hit!

Embrace the season!

Autumn has its own unique charm, and your outfit should complement that. What looks fabulous in the summer might not have the same vibe in the fall. So, as the seasons change, so should your wardrobe choices. Think cozy, warm, and stylish!

Go for earthy tones

Natural colors are your best friend in the fall. Think creamy whites, rich browns, deep burgundies, and muted tones with a pop of bold yellow or orange. Try to steer clear of all-black outfits, which can create harsh contrasts and lose details in the photos. But hey, if you're going for a formal or moody look, black can totally work! Sometimes, breaking the rules is exactly what you need to get that perfect shot.

Dress to impress

Whether it’s a family session or an engagement shoot, dressing up can make all the difference. Ladies, this is the time to twirl in that beautiful dress you’ve been saving, and gentlemen, a sharp collared shirt or some classy dress shoes can elevate your look instantly. When you dress well, have your make up and hair done pretty, you feel good, and that confidence will shine through in every picture.

Hold the hats and skip the logos

Hats can be a tricky accessory. They often cast shadows and can create dark circles in your photos. If you love hats and can't live without, how about a toque? But for the main event, it’s best to go without. Big logos and flashy graphics can distract from the main focus—you! Unless you're aiming for a commercial vibe, it’s best to stick with more subtle patterns. This doesn’t mean you have to avoid prints altogether; just choose wisely. Solid colors are generally a safer bet for keeping the focus on you. Of course, there are always exceptions!
